"The mission of the AIDS Housing Corporation is to facilitate the development of affordable, supportive housing options for people living with HIV/AIDS and other disabilities to maximize independence and dignity."
Since 1991, AIDS Housing Corporation, or AHC, has been providing Technical Assistance (TA) services to create safe, affordable places for people living with HIV/AIDS to call home. Our services have helped in the development of over 40 housing programs and more than 1,200 units of housing throughout New England. We serve as a strong voice for the housing needs of persons with AIDS as well as other disabilities, and have advocated for increased funding and sound public policy that works toward meeting those needs. As a founder of the National AIDS Housing Coalition (NAHC), AHC remains very involved, with our executive director currently serving as the vice president of the NAHC board of directors. Through all of our advocacy and TA work, we help keep consumers, providers and funders of housing programs up-to-date and help them evolve to ensure that the needs of the day are being met as effectively as possible. To learn more about AHC's TA services, please visit AHC's Services page and follow the menu. We also encourage you to learn more about AHC's advocacy work and the newly established United Disability Housing Partnership by visiting our Advocacy page.
AHC receives funding for our work through federal, state and local agencies to provide our TA services. We are also particularly grateful to the Melville Charitable Trust for supporting our new advocacy initiative as well as The Boston Foundation for their support of this work.
We also are very fortunate to have had the support of many friends in the community who help make our work possible.
