Men and Women

Serves 25 men and women with HIV/AIDS who are homeless.
Applicants must be eligible for Boston Housing Authority
housing. If applicants have a history of addiction, they
must have 6 months documented clean time. Residents must
be medically stable and be able to clothe, feed, and
care for themselves with minimal support. Applicants
taking methadone are eligible for this program. This
apartment building also houses clients of the Department
of Mental Health, elderly residents, and low-income
persons. |

SETTING: |
Huntington at Symphony is a seven-story apartment
building located near restaurants, stores, bus stops,
and Green and Orange line train stops. The program has
25 studio apartments, each with a full bathroom and
efficiency kitchen. All units have emergency pull cords
and hold bars in the bathrooms. Two units are fully
handicap accessible. The building has an elevator. The
program has coin operated laundry facilities and a
community lounge. |

SERVICES OFFERED: |
-Fully furnished apartments (including kitchen supplies
and linens)
-On-site awake staff 24 hours a day
-24 hour concierge in building
-On-site substance abuse counseling
-Mental health counseling through JRI social worker
-Case Management
-Assistance with cleaning, errands, and laundry if
needed
-Assistance with shopping (one weekly van trip to a
store)
-Limited transportation assistance |
