RESIDENTS SERVED: 20 Men and Women

Serves 20 men and women living with HIV/AIDS who are currently chemically dependent. Applicants must be independent in activities of daily living and responsible for their own medications. They should have a current PPD (tuberculosis status). Applicants should not be actively homicidal or suicidal, pregnant, or barred from the Long Island Shelter, Woods Mullen, or the Long Island Shelter Annex.

SETTING: Safe Harbor is located next to the Long Island Shelter in Boston Harbor. The program has 20 bedrooms, bathrooms, a living room, and meeting rooms.
SERVICES OFFERED: -Furnished rooms (including linens)
-On-site 24 hour awake staff
-Substance use and relapse prevention counseling
-Mental health counseling
-Case management
-Meal preparation
-Transportation (program has a van)
-Skilled nursing
-On-site meetings/groups (all mandatory):
5 weekly meetings with case manager
Weekly HIV education groups
Community group
On-site 12 step group
