New England HOPWA Competitive Awards Announced
The New England region had all of its 2003 HOPWA competitive program renewal or continuation applications approved. The following grants were awarded:
Maine
The Frannie Peabody Center (Portland)--$1,327,675 to continue partially funding the Haven's Outreach to Rural Maine (The Project) that provides low-income HIV/AIDS individuals throughout Maine with safe, secure, and sustainable permanent housing.

Massachusetts
Cambridge Cares About AIDS--$1,335,524 to continue funding the Bay State Supported Housing Alliance (BSSHA) which provides 24 units of supported transitional housing in Eastern Massachusetts for HIV positive individuals and their families who have histories of chronic homeless.
Community Health Link (Worcester)--$1,286,000 to continue funding Maranda's House Transitional Congregate Program for Women with AIDS.
AIDS Housing Corporation--$250,000 to deliver regional HOPWA technical assistance in the State of Massachusetts and throughout the New England geographic area. AHC will provide assistance to communities and organizations through a five pronged approach: needs assessments and community planning; community-wide systems development; project development, operation, and management; program evaluation; and research, training, and publications.

New Hampshire
The State of New Hampshire, Division of Behavioral Health, Office of Homeless and Housing Services--$607,545 to continue promoting and providing adequate affordable permanent housing solutions to persons with HIV/AIDS and their families in the Greater Manchester area.

Burlington Housing Authority--$368,445 to continue funding Vermont's only residential facility for persons with HIV/AIDS.
