AHC Welcomes New Staff Members

AIDS Housing Corporation staff continues to grow, with three new staff members recently joining our team. We are excited to have them join us.

Andrew Keys joined AHC in June as the Program Support Specialist. He provides administrative and project support to agency operations, Technical Assistance, and advocacy program staff. Prior to AHC, Andrew worked in architecture and as a media researcher. He holds a graduate certificate in urban policy from Tufts University and a BA in Journalism from the University of Memphis.

Prior to joining AHC, Andrew studied and worked in architecture and as a media researcher, collecting information about media across New England and the country. Andrew moved to Boston from Tennessee in 2001, and though he originally hales from the southern U.S., he now considers New England his home. During his spare time, Andrew is a voracious reader, and enjoys writing, Web design, and spending time with his partner and dog.

Maria Orsini joins AHC in August as a Project Manager. Ms. Orsini recently completed her Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Puerto Rico. She leaves a position with the Puerto Rico Department of Public Health, where she coordinated activities on a public health project in San Juan and the countryside. In Puerto Rico she also volunteered for the Iniciativa Comunitaria in Punto Fijo as a needle exchange volunteer.

This marks a return to Massachusetts for Ms. Orsini. She received a BA from Northeastern University and worked for a couple of years at the AIDS Action Committee of Boston. There, she coordinated the AIDS and Hepatitis C Hotline and case managed clients. At AHC, Ms. Orsini will be focusing on our training and evaluation components, as well as exploring public health research possibilities.

Amy Davidson also joins AHC this August as a part-time Project Manager. Ms. Davidson has a law degree from the Albany Law School of Union University in Albany, NY and has been admitted to the Bar in Massachusetts and New York. Ms. Davidson has experience in housing and economic development in Boston, having worked for Urban Edge and Codman Square NDC.

She has also done work for the Massachusetts Alliance of HUD Tenants, where she was involved in the issue of expiring-use. For the Alliance, she worked with other advocates to draft home-rule legislation that would allow municipalities to intervene as aging HUD-financed properties have clauses kick in that allow owners to opt out of affordability requirements. At AHC, Ms. Davidson will be primarily working with the City of Boston's Department of Neighborhood Development to commit HOPWA funds to property development in Norfolk, Suffolk and Plymouth counties.
