The Bay State Supportive Housing Alliance
The Bay State Supportive Housing Alliance (BSSHA), begun in 2001, is a collaboration between three Boston area AIDS housing providers. Its mission is to make 24 community-based transitional housing subsidies available to participants who might not otherwise be able to access affordable housing. Since BSSHA is the first program of its kind and a potential model for future harm reduction programs, it was very important to integrate evaluation processes and success measures at the ground level. AHC worked extensively with program collaborators to design a group of desired outcomes and outcome measures, and currently manages the evaluation process, overseeing data collection, analysis and reporting. The recommendations AHC makes based on the findings of these ongoing evaluations guide program policy.
