Residential Programs

What is an HIV Residential Program?

An HIV residential program is a permanent housing program for persons with HIV. That means you can stay there as long as you pay your rent and follow the rules.

There’s lots of support from staff and other residents. Most residential programs have 24 hour staff. Like transitional programs, a residential program has rules.

Some programs provide you with your own apartment. Other programs provide you with your own bedroom and you have to share a bathroom and a kitchen with other residents.

Once you are living in a residential program, you may no longer be "eligible" to move into some other types of permanent housing. A residential program may be a great place for you if you are looking for a place with a lot of support and help.
