Domestic Violence:
Is it Happening in Your Program?
This training allows AIDS housing staff to explore
the issue of domestic violence and how it may present in their programs.
Identifying the problem, responding to needs of residents who are in
coercive and controlling relationships, and helping them secure needed
resources are the focus. This training also considers
specific issues that arise for survivors of domestic violence within
communities that are particularly vulnerable, including immigrant women, and
men and women in the GLBT community. Additionally, needs of
neighbors and friends of individuals in
abusive relationships, and needs of staff are addressed.
This training is highly recommended for all directors and front line service
providers of HIV/AIDS residential support services and housing case management
services, as well as other AIDS service staff.
