HOPWA Program Management Training

AHC is committed to the sound management of the HOPWA program. In the 2004, AHC offered a comprehensive, modular training to virtually all of the HOPWA grantees and project sponsors in New England. Training sessions were held in Manchester, N.H., Hartford, Conn., and Worcester, Mass. The training addressed technical details concerning all of the eligible HOPWA activities, as well as grant management issues. Attendees at the training received a notebook that contained a wealth of source materials, including presentation notes, copies of HUD notices, memos and regulations, OMB circulars and other source material, including information on:
  • Rental assistance, e.g. rent calculation and lease agreements
  • Reporting rent payments to the IRS
  • Fiscal management
  • Documentation and reporting of program activities
  • Managing short-term rent mortgage and utilities payments.
